Krupnicza Street is located in the heart of Krakow, just a short walk west of the Old Town and the Main Market Square.
It runs parallel to Karmelicka Street, another major thoroughfare, and connects directly to Planty Park, the green belt that encircles the historic centre.
How to get to Krupnicza Street?
Getting to Krupnicza Street is incredibly easy, whether you’re walking from the Old Town or using public transportation.
- Walking – It’s only a short 10-minute walk along Szczepanska Street or through Planty Park to Krup from the Krakow Main Square. The street is well-signposted. It shoots off to the southwest from Teatre Bagatela – the point where the Old Town joins Kamelicka Street.
- Tram – Krakow’s excellent tram system makes it easy to get to Krupnicza. The nearest tram stop is Teatr Bagatela, which is serviced by multiple tram lines, including 2, 4, and 14. From there. Get out there and you’ll be right at the northern end of Krupnicza itself.

That’s something that’s made it particularly pleasant in the warmer months.
During the summer, Krupnicza comes alive with people sipping coffee or enjoying lunch in the open air. The street’s outdoor tables are perfect for watching the world go by, and many of the restaurants take advantage of this with cozy terraces. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or planning to linger over coffee and cake, Krupnicza is the ideal spot to unwind.
Keep going all the way up to the top end of Krupnicza and you’ll also come to a street food market that’s made from a few demountables. It’s compact but pretty darn good for summer eats and drinks. We rate it among the best street food spots in the city – especially for those Indian dosas!
